In 1879, Charles Mortimer Dedman, a local pharmacist, set up his distillery in Mercer County, Kentucky, on the banks of the Kentucky River. The activity flourished for 37 years until the prohibition and the confiscation of 250,000 gallons by the state. A few years later, on a dark night, the site was destroyed by fire, the causes remains’ to this day a mystery (an alcohol warehouse normally burns in several days …). Rumors will attribute the event to Al Capone who repatriated whiskey for his clandestine activities in Chicago…

A century later, Dixon Dedman, the great-great-grandson of the creator, re-founded the family distillery and launched a new production of exceptional whiskeys.
