Whiskey distillation was born in Tennessee with the arrival of the first settlers in the Smoky Mountains. Kept clandestine for a long time, this distillation has been developed until it reached its peak during Prohibition. Non-aged, the white “Moonshine” whiskeys were released quickly after distillation. The best recipes made from corn mash are 100 years old and have made the reputation of the Tennessee Moonshine. The typical presentation in jars reminds the ones used by the first artisanal producers who sipped directly from the jar.
