In 1979, the Torres Spanish family founded the Miguel Torres wine company in Chile, on a 100-hectare vineyard near the Andes, to develop a new Chilean wine. Production has never stopped increasing and the company now has more than 400 hectares on six different properties. Recently, the company launched the El Gobernador brand, a pisco distilled in a traditional copper stills, which is then aged for a year before being filtered to become transparent again.
